A Long Time Coming...

Well it sure has been a long time since my last post.. I am another year older and wiser now.. lol.. or supposed to be I guess.
Things have been really busy of late and so much has happened since my last post..
I had 2 21st parties.. both being big successes...
Work has been crazy busy and VERY stressful of late..
I've been going to lots of Basketball games, with my flat mate, to watch the Otago Nuggets play.. It's so much fun just watching and cheering on the team (loudly I might add) and cheering on my favourite players.. It helps that I know all their names and have met a number of them... :)
Anyhow, this is just a quick update. Will have to write more later, when I'm not supposed to be working.....

Well.. When I decided to make a blog I knew that I would have the problem of not updating it very often.. So, true to form, here is my newest post...
It's hard to believe that it is already February!! My new flatmate moved in yesterday, which is great, it's just rather weird learning to live with another person again, after living alone for like 3 months.. But I'll get there!!
As they uni year is about to start again soon, the students are slowly beginning to trickle back into the beautiful city of Dunedin.. It's rather exciting meeting new people and having some new faces at church!! :) Unfortunately a good friend of mine has decided that it is time to leave Dunedin and start a new life in Christchurch, lucky for Christchurch but I sure am going to miss her!! Oh well, tis life...
One of my brothers wrote this really awesome post fort his blog the weblink is: http://stasissheets.blogspot.com/ and it's called 7 ways to botch a wooing.. check it out! It's really awesome!!
Anyhow that is kinda a quick update of what has been happening in my life..
Goodday and Goodnight!!

Hi all,
Thought it was about time to make another entry, so this poor blog doesn't feel neglected...
Life isn't too exciting down here at the moment... Last Thursday I flew to Auckland for the day.. a long, but great day.
I started the day at 4:45 am, and I was very surprised to see how light it is at that time in the morning.. My flight left at 6:50am and as we had a few minutes to kill, we went to the Koru lounge for a bit of breakfast..
It was a perfect day for flying, and when we arrived in and left Wellington, there was almost NO turbulence (which was most excellent).. Once we were in Auckland we got a cab to take us to the Air NZ building.
I was rather surprised at how big the place was.. It's only a month or 2 old.. and really nice.. I wouldn't mind working there myself. It's full of nice bright colours and the people that work there are just awesome..
I met the people that I deal the most with and they were all fantastic and friendly, which made the whole experience that much better...
After spending a few hours there, we left for lunch on the waterfront (which has a different name, but I can't remember it for the life of me..)
We then proceeded to walk through into town, where we managed to locate a lot of hotels that we book people at, which was rather cool.. eventually making our way to the Sky Tower..
I went to the top of that and watched about 5 people "bungyjump" out of it.. I was rather dissapointed, to say the least, that it was less bungy and more lowering people to the ground from the top.. Not worth paying $170.00 for.. But that's only my humble opinion...
As we had a couple of minutes to kill before we were to be collected and taken back to the airport, the others decided that they would like to check out the SkyTower Casino.. I went along for interests sake.. And I just couldn't believe how many people were there on a Thursday afternoon.. It was CRAZY I tell you..
Just as we were leaving the casino we were "lucky" enough to watch a guy lose $1500 in under 2 minutes.. Can you believe that?? I just don't understand how people can waste their hard earned money like that...
After that shocking moment, we made our way downstairs where our cab was waiting.. The cab took us back to the airport where we went to the Koru Lounge for a bite to eat before the flight back to Dunedin..
Once I had been dropped off to my flat all I was in the mood was to do was.. drop onto my bed.. BUT of course, that would be the one day, out of all the days I have lived in Dunedin so far, that I locked my keys in the flat.. I was gutted to put it bluntly and couldnt believe that I had done that..
So I rang my landlord from outside my flat and he said he would be around shortly. A couple of minutes later he arrived and that's when he discovered that he had brought the wrong car, so he had to go all the way home and swap cars.. Well, eventually I was allowed back into my flat... What an eventful day. But all in all it was a great day.. and Aucklanders will be happy to know that I discovered that I didn't actually dislike the place afterall..
Anyhow, back to work for me..

Queenstown Weekend at Millbrook!!

Friday 24th November 2006...
After completing work for the day, which included a conference that I had been organising travel for (which coincidently was on that weekend as well), I was to drive to Queenstown.
After an initial delay, and then after picking up my passenger, we set of for Queenstown.
The drive was rather uneventful. It was so nice to see the sun still around at 10:00pm at night!!
We made it to Millbrook at about 10:30pm, and drove to the reception, where we checked in and shown the location of our villa!! Yes, we stayed in Villas!! They was large, spacious and so flash!! My villa had 2 floors, my bedroom was on the second floor, along with my own bathroom!! The main colours were deep red, with greens and blues, really country style too.. VERY NICE!!
As the next day would be very busy, I decided to head to bed!
After a great sleep, underneath a heavenly soft duvet cover, I was ready to start the new day. Breakfast was fantastic with so many options, it would be impossible for one to go hungry from the restaurant!
A group of us converged on the villa that 3 other people from work were staying in.
We decided to stake out Queenstown and do a bit of shopping!! Always good!! :)
Was such awesome weather, albeit very windy!!
Once we were all shopped out, we headed back to Millbrook to recover a bit before the evenings events!!
Once I was changed I headed over to the Wellington girls' Villa, where they were getting ready. Once there they tackled the task of straightening my hair, and I have to admit that they did a good job...
We were supposed to meet up with everyone, about 25 people in total, at the Marquee at 6pm, but we decided to be fashionable late... hehe, or we were running late as usual..
If I were a princess I could quote the phrase "A princess is never late, everyone else is just early!" :)
Once there we hit the bar for a few drinks, then it was time for the speech kindly prepared by my boss...
After a fantastic Christmas dinner, which included a whole pig on the spit!!! We loaded into the shuttle which was taking us to my boss' place in Arrowtown, where we consumed a bit of champagne and, my favorite, red bull and vodka!
After that and some photos, we headed for Arrowtown to hit the pubs... Unfortunately, the league was playing that night, so the guys were all glued to the tv's and there was no music... but we managed to make the most of the situation and have a good time.
Once we had had enough of the Arrowtown pubs we decided to head back to the boss' place, where we would get our ride back to Millbrook. As I was in the second car load, i had the opportunity to light some sparklers and watch some fireworks being let off.. A nice end to that part of the evening.
Back at Millbrook, I headed to one of the girls' villa where we played Buzz for a bit.. quite a cool game, but by that time I was rather tired, so then we decided to call it a night.
The next morning, after having rehydrated myself with water :), a great trick, a headed to breakfast, for a nice healthy meal consisting of bacon, hashbrowns, eggs, bread and yoghurt... MMMM which hit the spot...
After that it was time to pack up, check out and head back to Dunners, so there you have it.. Our 2006 Staff Weekend... A total success!!!

Thursday Night!!

Well.. where to begin.. Thursday night was the Industry Christmas do of the year.. so was quite looking forward to it, as it is the first one that I have been able to make it to.
Many a person turned up for food, drinks, speeches, more drinks and talking to people.
Was great fun, and managed to catch up with my friend that I haven't seen for a year or so.
After that, a couple of us from work decided that it would be a great idea to give Karaoke a whirl!! Well, that sure was an experience.. only 1 or 2 out of all of us could actually carry a tune, and not to sound stuck up or anything, 1 of those was me..
Was a great time and many songs were sung... and with work again on Friday morning, we decided to call it quits at 12:30 am on Friday morning...
Was great fun... but something that won't be repeated in the too near future..
Love adash

All Sparkley and new!!
